Funds raised will be utilized on feed and supplements, medicine and enrichment of adopted animals at the Central Zoo.

What happens if my animal is no longer in display?

Your donation is automatically transferred to the next available animal within the species. A letter is sent to notify you of this transfer. However, you are welcome to contact the Animal Adoption program and arrange to transfer to a different animal of your choice

How many people can adopt an animal?

There is no limit to the number of people who can adopt each animal.

How long does my animal adoption last?

Zoo animal adoption last for 12 months. After 12 months we will write and ask you whether you want to continue your adoption.

Can I change my animal?

Animal adoption lasts for 12 months – after this period you can adopt the same animal or change to one of our other available animals.

Can I cancel my adoption?

Animal adoption is for 12 months and can be stopped after this time. The funds from adoption are a donation to the work of NTNC-Central Zoo. Unfortunately no refunds can be given.

Can I use my adoption for promotional purposes?

Adoptions and the aligned set of benefits are for personal use for general category adopters. If you are interested in becoming a corporate partner please contact the Central Zoo (info@ntnc.org.np).

Do I get to take the animal home with me?

No. The Adopt program is a symbolic adoption and the animal will remain at the Central Zoo.

Will anyone else adopt this animal?

Yes. It takes the support of more than one adoption to feed and care for an animal all year. All adoptions support the care and feeding of the animal residents at the Central Zoo.

Can I name my adopted animal?

All your Zoo friends have names that they love, and we are more than happy to add it to your certificate upon request! Of course, you are welcome to give your adopted animal a different, unofficial name in your own household.

I live overseas – can I support Adopt an animal?

Yes. If you live abroad, you can also support our Adopt an animal. You can directly adopt an animal from our website.

Who can I contact if I have further questions?
